Full Provisioning recommendations - 07/17/2021 06:45 PM

Hi! Chartering in a couple weeks….we’ve always done our own provisioning but we are thinking about delivery service this time around. Anyone have any recent experiences with a company they would recommend?

Assuming that you are on St. Thomas, Moe's will deliver. Call them for the web site to get list to shop from and order.

We used to toss this around among the crew before every trip. Put 4 restaurant professionals on a boat together and < NOT> shopping for our own food was vetoed every time. If we were going to feed each other, no one wanted to be stuck with someone outside the crew's idea of " oh good enough" produce and meat. At times on island, it can all be half a bubble from iffy, but at least seeing it for yourself puts a big sock in it vs blaming someone else who spent your money for you, sight unseen.

By all means, get the heavy stuff delivered. Beer, Liquor, Wine, Water, Seltzer and Soda. Canned and bottled fruit juices, coconut cream or other cocktail needs Depending on your boat and refrigeration, work with your charter company to have the reefers chilled down and/or iced before you get there. We always traveled with a cooler or 2, any ice not needed in the bin-style chest reefers could go in the cooler to chill beverages. Oh yeah-- ICE. Have some ideas where to find it and buy it after you leave the dock. Better yet, charter a boat with an icemaker.

Just the way it's worked for us. If you know each other well enough to charter together, you know each other well enough to feed each other.

We ordered most of what we needed using viprovisioning for our charter last month. I called a few days before with questions and they were helpful. It's a good service if you're looking for convenience. There were some things not on their website that we wanted and they were able to find those things or something very similar.
