This is normally a family resort and not a clothing optional resort. However, Go-Classy Tours worked a deal with the owners of Pebbles Beach Club and this week was designated as a clothing optional week - a first for this resort.

It turned out to be a great trip. This is a fairly new resort and the accomodations were very good - better than many other clothing optional resorts like Hedonism or Club Orient. The beach is pretty but is too shallow to make good swimming. Most of the activities center around a huge pool and swim-up bar.

The staff was really fantastic. Although this was the first time to have nude guests, they didn't miss a beat. They were friendly and anxious to help. Every few minutes a waitress would come around the pool to take your drink order. And since this was an all-inclusive resort, there was every incentive to order a fresh "cold one."

There were three restaurants - a big buffet-style restaurant, a beach bar by the pool and a sit-down Italian restaurant. We ate at all three and found them more than satisfactory. Certainly none served gourmet food but none of us left the table hungry.

The resort was nude all the time except in the main restaurant. The crowd was very similar to what you would find at Club Orient.

Every night was a theme night of some sort. They had pajama night, toga night, beach party night, etc. It was all great fun and almost everyone participated. The costumes were risque but perhaps a little tamer than you would find at Hedonism or Grand Lido.

At the end of the week, they surveyed the guests and over 95% said that they would come back to Pebbles Beach Club for another "nude week." At $1,000 per person - all inclusive - this was a great deal. They have another "nude week" scheduled for October of this year and, tentatively, another one next May.

This trip was a cross between an active nude resort like Hedonism and a laid-back resort like Club Orient.

The main dining room was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hours were pretty generous. We sometimes went to breakfast early - like 7 AM and late - like 9 AM. The Italian restaurant was open only two or three nights while we were there. The beach bar was open every day for breakfast and lunch.

The dining room was a buffet - like most of the ones you've seen everywhere else. They usually had about 5 or 6 entree choices. I thought some were very good and some were only fair. The salad bar was always first class. And the deserts were good as well.

The beach bar offered a continental-style breakfast with help yourself pastries, fruit, juices, coffee, etc. At lunch, the beach bar served hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, ribs, etc. I thought it was quite good and ate there several times for lunch.

The rooms were a large room (about the size of Club O) divided in half. One half was the bedroom with a king-size bed. The other half was a sitting room with sofa, desk, large screen TV - with 50 stations - etc. Each room had a balcony or porch. We were beachfront and on the second floor so we had a great view.

I can't remember about topshelf liquor or not but I think so.

The staff was really, really good - I can't say enough about them. One guest brought some microwave popcorn and asked one of the bar staff to pop it for them. The bar microwave was broken and the staff member to it to the resort next door and brought it back a few minutes later popped. Another time, a guest asked for some kind of liquor - I forget what it was - and the bar didn't have it. A staff member took a car and went to MoBay to get it.

Hope this helps.
