1 hour ago Are there any other BVI type forums? [by crafta7]
This place seems to have died off a lot over the years, very few posts per day. Did people move to a different forum?

Is there a reason things have fallen off? Did the hurricane impact it?

2 hours ago How Do You Make A Reservation At Roma's [by Whale Tail]
I've been trying for 4 hours to phone Roma's for reservations for 4 tomorrow and all I get is their answering machine. I left a message for reservations for 4 tomorrow at 6pm and have yet to receive a peep from them.
What's with that?

Yesterday at 07:34 PM Dingy lunch [by RonDon]
Ate lunch at Dingy ribs for me chicken for hubby2 cokes $39. Saw nothing on menu about service charge or tipping so we left $45 cash because power went out. Food was tasty. Returned to our unit power was still out so we went out on the lanai to catch some breeze.

About half hour later we both had stomach pains. Now we’re grateful for the unit having two bathrooms.

This is turning into the worst vacation!

Power back on.

Yesterday at 05:52 PM M 5 - One Big Sailboat ⛵️ [by Whale Tail]
This monster pulled into Simpson Bay this morning. It's the largest single masted sailboat in the world, approximately 246 feet long, 48 1/2 feet wide. That boat is 18 1/2 wider than my sailboat was long! The mast is 291 feet high. The other pictures are of Multiverse behind the sailboat with a helicopter landing on it from PJIA. It then left and is headed towards St Barths.

Yesterday at 04:16 PM Statia and Saba Winair deals [by CrazyCanuxx]
Greetings all,

Winair has a great flight deal to Statia or Saba. The deal is same day flights for $79.

I think it runs for a few more months.

This is a great boost to their tourism economy, as well as a chance for tourists to get a taste of these nearby islands.

Don't forget to post a trip report to tempt us to explore more.

Yesterday at 11:05 AM DAY 8 SUNDAY/CYCLE IDIOTS [by ruralcarrier]
We started off with assorted pastries from La Sucriere. 3 of us opted to spend some time on Simpson Bay Beach at Mary's Boon. The other 2 hung out at The Atrium and did some laundry. We got to Mary's Boon around 10:00, found parking in front and got some nice padded loungers in the front row. Entry to the water was easy and the water was nice and with minimal drop-off. We each had a couple of drinks and a light lunch, salads and tempura shrimp. Service was good and not over-bearing, 15% service charge is included with suggested options for an additional tip. We left a couple of $$ each. I also found it interesting that there is also an option for the customer to ask for the 15% to be reduced if they are not satisfied with the service. Considering the loungers are at no charge if you eat and/drink there, we were very pleased.

A quick stop at Market Garden and then back to The Atrium to relax a bit before heading to Chesterfields for a birthday dinner celebration of 3 in the group. I made a quick stop at Lee's for happy hour, they were doing a brisk bar business for St. Patrick's Day.

We were just leaving for Chesterfield's when we were met by a pretty large group of the scooter/cycle idiots. Some were doing wheelies. riding on the rear tire and all speeding excessively. They continued on and then a smaller group doing the same thing appeared. I am glad we were going the other way as they headed into Simpson Bay. We were on Welfare Road and they were coming out of Waterfront Road. So much for cracking down on this crap. It is a scary thing when they come flying at you with reckless abandon and no concern for their safety or yours.

We had reservations at Chesterfields and were joined by my long-time (30+ years of knowing him) island friend, Junior Bruney. He was one of the birthday celebrations. Wine and drinks were ordered, some appetizers to share and entrees consisted of some sort of fish or seafood for all with the exception of one who ordered the duck. The duck got very high marks and all the other entrees were good as well. Several of us had desserts and they provided a round of green shots in honor of the day and the birthdays. 15% service charge added and we tipped extra for very good service. 2 hours of parking is comped with your ticket validated.

Chesterfields reminds me a lot of Mark's Place. Very good but not gourmet, frequented by locals and visitors alike, a good variety of food, lots of it and very reasonable prices along with very good service.

I called it a night while the others went to Hollywood casino and/or Red Piano.

Yesterday at 10:29 AM Sunday food & friends [by RonDon]
Jazz @rendez-vous was great, as usual. Place was packed. Glad we’d reserved. Unplanned we met other TTOL s as mentioned in whale tail’ s post and had a rip-roaring time.

We both opted for the lasagna which turned out to be quite good.

Went to the birthday party as whale said and continued our fun. Unfortunately, Wendy had to leave before the birthday girl arrived.

A group of bikers showed up and for a time all you could smell was fumes. Glad we weren’t eating there.

Day ended as the sun went down and all promised to get together again.

Yesterday at 01:02 AM A Great Afternoon At Rendezvous & A Small Gathering Of TTOL'ers [by Whale Tail]
Another great afternoon listening to a great group of musicians. The guitarist, bassist, drummer and keyboardist will switch instruments throughout the afternoon and are very talented on any instrument. The horn players stick to their instruments. With two female vocalist added in it makes for a great 3 hours. We had the Rendezvous grilled platter for lunch, chicken, beef and pork with some pretty good fries.
In attendance today were RonDon (Rosemary and Don) and WendyK (Wendy) who have never met before and us. It was small TTOL'ers get together. Then we all headed over to Danys Beach Bar to meet Todd and wish MJ a happy birthday. All in all a pretty good day.
