Sunday Jan 20th, beautiful day a bit windy, breakfast in Unit then lathering up with Sun Screen drove over to Orient, cold Heinies and Coolers in bag. You can rent Umbrellas and lounges thru Olivers at the Discount Booth in Simpson Bay for 6.00 each per day, and I think cheaper for the week but at 12$ on the beach there, why bother. On vacation who wants to lug the stuff etc.

Stopped at the lookout gift shop on the hill above Orient, best prices in the first booth near the parking lot. Patti always brings Doggie Goodies, (second coming of St. Francis)
The Liquor Booth Owner's Dog was impressed, I was not impressed with her prices though. They always shanghi the Cruise Ship Bus loads to the hilltop. Actually though, they do have a few different gifts for sale there we didn't see anywhere else. After I convinced the Dog she couldn't come home with us, we headed down to the beach.

I was surprised to see Orient not as crowded as usual but given last falls events we all appreciate why but still to look at it that way was funny. Looked for Pat and her husband from Jersey who we had also met at Bananas the night before and didn't see them. In fact, I never saw anyone again all week but then again, we really didn't walk the beach. Always great people watching though as the Contessa will verify. Patti comments, yea right!! but you guys know.

Drove up from Orient to French Cul de Sac for a look around and wanted to place Sol Luna for a reservation later in the week. Then back to DIVI to Shower Up then back to Cul De Sac to Le Picolo for Dinner which I had reserved from home, once again surprised, not full at early sitting. Robert has changed up the menu this year to reflect only the appetizers, all around the 8 dollar range. The main courses were conveyed verbally like a special with 3-4 choices. What can you say about LePicolo
Service was first rate, food excellent as usual, can't remember what we ordered except the Cream Brulee and the Slapshot Brownie/Icecream desserts at the end, cold Heinies and great reasonably priced Red Wine. Robert just arrived as we were leaving having just flown in from Canada, said hello and on our way.

Now stuffed, I nursed our battle worn vehicle over to the Dolphin Casino off the Maho Beach. I like the Let it Ride table while Patti plays the slots. Made a generous deposit then back to Divi for the night.

I find that driving out from Phillipsburg over to the French Side thru Sucker Garden, Orleans etc. is always faster. Go over to the street with the Heineken Plane, turn right and drive along until the road bends to the right, turn left there and just follow the road, takes you directly to Oyster Pond, Orient Beach, Cul De Sac, Grand Case etc. then eventually into Marigot without having to sit a half an hour on the hill if you go up from Cole Bay.

Stay tuned for volume 3 soon.
