We left STL at 6 a.m. on Monday and flew to Miami. We ate at Island bar and grill in the airport then left Miami at 11:30. We flew to SXM arriving at 2. We got our rental car from Myra at Triple AAA for $150 a week plus $25 each additional day. There was no traffic from the airport so we arrived at Club O at 4 p.m. Check in was a breeze...we were assigned room 138...one of our favorites. Thank you Jim and Mary Ruos at Caribbean Travel!

We unpacked...bought a few things at the boutique, freshened up, and went to the managers wine and cheese party at 5:30 followed by dinner at the papaguyo. We both had French onion soup and salad.....it was wonderful! We stayed for the karaoke by Dave. It was great to see Nancy, Barick, Patu, Carlos, a new server named Aurelian, Willie, Linda and Steve Payne.

Tuesday morning we had breakfast at our room then went to the beach. It was a bit breezy but sunny and beautiful. We walked up the beach to do some shopping. We shared a cheeseburger and fries at the Papaguyo. We then went to the new US Supermarche right by the cul de sac and got some groceries. We went back to the beach and came in about 4...cleaned up and had drinks on the patio. We ate sandwiches on the patio for dinner.

Wednesday. we had breakfast at the room...went to the beach...had lunch at our room...went back to the beach....had drinks on the patio...and went to the papaguyo for king crab legs followed by dancing till 10.

Thursday, our 38th anniversary... we had breakfast at the room...went to the beach...My kindle started freezing up and did not work right most of the day which was frustrating. We had lunch at our room...back to the beach..drinks on the patio...then went with friends to Sunset beach cafe in Grand Case. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset though it was very windy. Steve and I both had the mussels in cream garlic sauce. It was very good...but unfortunately...the restaurant was very busy so service was lacking. Philippe was very frazzled. Prices are Euros and tip is cash.

Friday, we had breakfast at the room...went to the beach...my kindle refused to work at all...I called Amazon and they had me do a few tests on the kindle and determined it was broken. They said they would ship me a new one to SXM but that I would have to pay customs on it...so I told them to send it to my home. They did tell me I can read my books on line so that is what I did for the remainder of the trip...however...you cannot take a laptop to the beach and SEE it...so my reading at the beach was impossible. I brought no books with me and the books in the room did not interest me....so I listened to my ipod and tried to get over my wrath:) We had lunch at the room...went back to the US Supermarche for some more wine...went back to the beach...drinks on the patio...and had lobster at the papaguyo for dinner.

Saturday...we had breakfast at the room....went to the beach...where the wind was TERRIBLE and it was cloudy and overcast ...so we came back to the room and sat on the patio while it poured down rain. We shared a cheeseburger at the papaguyo again....and had drinks on the patio. Friends invited us over for a wonderful spaghetti dinner. I brought the salad.

Sunday, we had breakfast at the room....went to the beach...where the wind was the worst so far and then we had a downpour.....lunch at the room....drinks on the patio...and went with friends to Sky's the limit for dinner...good food and $20 cash for the both of us!

Monday, we had breakfast at the room....went to the beach until it started raining. Had lunch on the patio. We went to the managers wine and cheese party at 5:30 and stayed for dinner at papaguyo. I had spaghetti, Steve had rib eye steak.

Tuesday, we awoke to pouring down rain..had breakfast at the room...there was a short break in the weather so we did lay on the beach for a short while. We shared a cheeseburger at papaguyo for lunch and sandwiches on the patio for dinner.

Wednesday, we had breakfast at the room....it was overcast but it turned out to be a beautiful day! We had lunch at the room and dinner at papaguyo...crab legs!

Thursday, breakfast at the room...to the beach...lunch at the room....to the beach and dinner with friends at gugini at the Royale the marina in Marigot.
We had lasagne and it was good. The owners are from Canada. Price was euros.

Friday...breakfast at the room...lunch at Papaguyo...dinner with friends at ti bouchon in the cul de sac. Steve had sea scallops and I had veal. It was the best meal of the trip. MOMO? the owner is such a great host! Price was dollars.

Saturday we had Croissants on the patio. We went to the beach but it was cloudy and terribly windy so we did not stay long. We said goodbye to friends and took the car back to AAA car rental office. The lines at the airport were terrible. We got there 3 hours before our flight and only had about 45 minutes to spare. We flew to Miami. We ate at the Island bar and grill again. We arrived in STL at 11:30 pm, picked up the luggage and the car and drove an hour home.

We had a wonderful vacation, though the weather was certainly not the best. We cannot wait to return next April!
