It kind of depends on your age. Where you want to locate your timeshare and a bunch of other issues. When we purchased (about 25 years ago) it was because the location was next to a really great secluded beach. The beach has been totally developed and we never go there anymore. The maintenance fees have skyrocketed to the point that we could rent a private home in Tres Bases for less. And, unless the new government protections go through on the Dutch side, you as a timeshare owner have no rights. We got lucky, our resort is pretty well managed. .. Others are not.
