Your post is very appropriate!
As a reminder to others, Memorial day is when we remember those who sacrificed greatly defending our freedom. When you encounter a Vet on Memorial Day saying "Thank you for your service" is an appropriate comment. "Happy Memorial Day" is not. We are remembering our fallen friends and comrads.
Sunday evening we will be watching the Memorial Day concert on the Mall on PBS.
