NEWS FROM Crown Weather CHIEF HONCHO Rob Lightbown ABOUT HURRICANE JOSE: [SXM is] safe from hurricane force winds and definitely safe from being hit by another major hurricane. [But...] tropical storm conditions look more and more likely on Saturday and Saturday night. Looks like winds increase to tropical storm force tomorrow morning and peak at about 60 mph with gusts to 70 mph during the mid and late afternoon hours of tomorrow. Also, obviously heavy rain bands are likely as well tomorrow. Winds/rain diminish tomorrow night and the storm will be over before dawn Sunday morning. Wanted to also let you know that there's a chance that Anguilla may see 75-80 mph wind gusts late tomorrow afternoon during the peak of the hurricane.
