We had a nice driver take us to Dany's beach, but couldn't stay..had a rum punch and went to Orient... well it was a very disturbing ride, to say the least, we have been going to sxm for over 33 years, and I was shocked to see the destruction from Maho all the way the Marigot then from Marigot to Orient. The piles and piles and tons of metal lined the roads. Boats strewn on land. We sat on Orient with a couple of chairs and I swam in my beloved water. It was eerily quite and remote, but with that said, "I" would go back. I'm not a high maintenance person needing luxuries, but staying 1 day as opposed to 15 days may be a little challenging for some. I saw a lot of rebuilding, but you could hear crickets on Orient. It was a mess, metal and steel lined the beach all the way to the parking lot.
