Day 8 "Fun in the Sun"

The day began with glorious sunshine and hardly a cloud to be seen! We had a relaxing breakfast in the condo before preparing for another day on Orient at Club O. We were meeting up with some friends whose last full day was today. Several others dropped by throughout the day and we were almost the last group on the beach at 5:00 P.M. There was a bit more wind today on the beach and a few sprinkles in mid afternoon, but still a great beach day and the showers blew over and didn't affect us at all.

We had lunch at the Perch today and the burger platters ( $10 each) were very good and the service much better than we had received last year.There were not many eating there today so that could have helped hasten the service. Willie was there mixing her fabulous drinks which always add to the pleasure of the afternoon!

We returned to Simpson Bay via Marigot and encountered no traffic problems. We dropped in to the Yacht Club for drinks on the way home and decided to have dinner there as well. I had a delicious mahi mahi platter and David enjoyed a reuben platter, both of which were very good. The staff there are very friendly and attentive and really add to the enjoyment of the meal. We spent a few hours there and then said farewell to our departing friends. Since we were still in our beach cover-ups, we decided to go back to the condo and shower and change before going out for the rest of the evening.

The casino was our destination tonight and since it was late and the Hollywood Casino was so close, we decided to go there. The return on our investment was not great tonight and we were home shortly after midnight.

We finished the evening with drinks on the balcony while being serenaded by the music of the Tree Frogs , a late night musical group! The end of another beautiful day in paradise!
