Day 16 "Fun in the Sun"

The day began with sunshine as usual. David, my breakfast chef, prepared a delicious full cooked Canadian breakfast with ham and eggs, toast, juice and coffee and we were ready to start the day.

David went to Scarlett to rent the new device for the internet and we were connected once again. I posted my "fun in the sun" reports and ventured off to the beach. Karakter Beach Bar was today's destination. We met up with Todd and MJ and Georgia and David and spent a lovely day there relaxing together.

Lunch was the Ocean Karakter for me and David enjoyed the fish cakes and apple pie and ice cream for dessert. With two cocktails and a bucket of beer, the total was $49 without the tip.

We left the beach around 3:00 P.M. to return to the condo to prepare for the mystery dinner in Oyster Pond tonight.

We were picked up in a large luxury van at our condo at 5:40 P.M. and travelled to the various residences to pick up all the other people for the party. Several bottles of champagne were enjoyed along the way and we reached our destination at a beautiful villa in Oyster Pond at 7:45P.M. We were met by Jeannie, our gracious hostess, who gave us a tour of the villa before giving out the information for the evening. There were 16 guests in attendance at the 1957 reunion party and everyone was in the party mood and adapted to the roles they had been assigned. It really was so much fun! The party was centred surrounding the pool area and in the dining room where tables were set up for a four course meal. There was champagne to commence the evening and different wines to accompany each course. After dessert, after dinner drinks were served. The chef served all the different courses and explained each wine selection with the appropriate food being served. There was lovely jazz music throughout the evening and also a soloist in attendance. Prizes were awarded for the best costume, best performer and the guests who solved the murder. David solved the murder and was awarded a lovely package of assorted liquors. I guess we have a lot more drinking to do before we leave the island!

The van returned at 12:30 A.M. to deliver us back to our respective homes. We arrived back in our condo at 1:30 A.M. It was a most enjoyable evening with great memories which will last long after the vacation ends. Thanks Jeannie for all the planning and hard work that went into this successful venture! We wish you much success in all your future endeavors!

Thus ended anther wonderful day and definitely a highlight of our vacation! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />
