Day 18 "Fun in the Sun"

The sun was shining again today and this spelled "beach day " loud and clear! After a breakfast of ham and eggs, we took care of a few e-mails and got ready for the beach.

Karakter was our destination today and we arrived at 11:30 A.M. and got some chairs beside Todd and MJ and settled in. We saw several people we knew today which made for a very nice day. Dan and Pam, Jim and Luda, Georgia and David, Rick and Vicky and Bill and Elaine were all there at different times throughout the day . The drinks were great as usual and the drink of the day today was the melon explosion. We started with that ,and then switched to a bucket of beer as we needed something cold and refreshing!

We had lunch there again and both entres were delicious. I had the terriyaki chicken served with french bread and salad and David chose the blue cheese encrusted grouper served with rice and plaintain. The meals there are always excellent and the tables were all full for lunch. After lunch we returned to our beach chairs and relaxed for the remainder of the afternoon. A few clouds formed and it really looked like a shower was coming our way, but it changed direction and we all remained dry. We did see a beautiful double rainbow though which was extremely unique. The colors were the most vibrant I had seen for a long while!

We left the beach about 4:45 P.M. and joined Todd and MJ at the Atrium Resort for drinks and to watch the sunset from their balcony overlooking Kimsha Beach. We saw the renovations that have been completed there and must say that the rooms are beautiful there now. It was nice to see that they made good use of our special assessments with all new furniture, new granite counter tops, new sinks, stainless steel appliances, new beds and so much more. The colors are very Caribbean and the cabinets are all a nice maple color. They have completed about 28 rooms with the remainder to be done in 2012 .

Since we had a big lunch later in the afternoon, we decided to have a late dinner "at home" tonight. Steak and kidney pie , minced beef and onion pie and sweet potato was the menu for the evening. Some chocolate cookies and Etna ice-cream rounded off the meal.

Now it is 10:00 P.M. and time to find some evening entertainment. Perhaps the Hollywood Casino would like a donation tonight and then we will have to see where we stop at next. So much to do, so little time left! We love this island!
