Day 19 " Fun in the Sun"

We had decided to leave early for Orient Beach today and stop along the way for breakfast, but our plans got sidetracked by stopping and talking a long time to our neighbors. Since it was now much later than we had planned, we decided to make a quick stop at La Sucriere for some croissants and ham and cheese rolls and ate them on the road.

We went to Orient via Philipsburg and there was no traffic so we were there in about 25 minutes. We love Orient at Club O on Saturday as there is never a big crowd due to vacationers leaving and new ones not checked in yet. We got chairs in the front row to the right of the Perch and settled in for the day. After about an hour, a large black cloud formed and circled the beach and we got our first real shower on the beach since we arrived almost three weeks ago! We all trotted over to the Perch Bar and kept Willie company until the 20 minute shower had ceased. The sun came out shortly afterwards and it turned out to be a magnificent day!

We had planned to walk down the beach to Orange Fever or Aloha for lunch , but sand gravity would not release us! The Perch Grill was not open today so we ended up having two BBC's for lunch. Sometimes you just can't beat a liquid lunch! We stayed on the beach until almost 5:00 P.M. and then stopped at Talk of the Town for dinner. Now I realize there has been many opinions regarding the Lolos and it has been reported that the food has not been as good as previously so we were hesitant, but decided to give it a try and see for ourselves. Well, I am here to report that the food was very good tonight!. We started off with two Ti Punch (perhaps that is the secret) and then ordered carib to go with the meal. We each had two johnny cakes and the rib platter which came with three sides. Everything was delicious and we were stuffed when we left there. The total including tip was $30 and probably the best deal in Grand Case! It was interesting to see one of the gourmet restaurant owners coming in there for the food to take home to his family for dinner. I would consider that a good recommendation!

We arrived home via Marigot and Cole Bay with no traffic problems. We enjoyed some after dinner drinks in the condo and then went out for the evening to enjoy the island's entertainment.
