AA changed the aircraft type on the MIA-SXM service effective June 7. They were operating A319s with 8 First Class/Business seats and 120 Coach seats, for 128 total seats. AA is now operating B738s on that service, with 16 First Class/Business seats and 144 Coach seats, for 160 total seats.

40 seats (31% increase) may not sound like much, but it's a very positive sign, and it's very real - those additional 40 seats are flying today.

Minister DeWeever may be slightly off on the future flights. AA's present schedule shows only two SXM-MIA nonstops per day effective 12/19, not three. AA's present schedule also shows both PHL-SXM and JFK-SXM service starting on 12/19, for a total of five AA nonstops per day from four cities.

Initially the second MIA, the CLT, and the PHL services are scheduled to operate using A319s (8F, 120Y), and the JFK service looks like it is scheduled to operate using a B752 (16F, 160Y).
