This is my first attempt at a trip report. I have enjoyed everyone's daily reports so much that I am going to try to reciprocate. This is our 11th trip to St Maarten. We always come in February & this year we are staying for three weeks. We are timeshare owners at Simpson Bay Resort and because we love our two bedroom penthouse on the beach we are sticking with them thru the turmoil.
Our flight on AA left Hartford stopped in Miami and arrived in SXM on time. Daughter #1 was to arrive five minutes after us on Jet Blue from Hartford. She was delayed in PR for 1 1/2 hours so we sat in the airport. Unity was waiting for us and said, "No problem, wait for your daughter". When she finally arrived we got the car from Michael, the phone from Sharon and stopped at the Garden Market for essentials, coffee, cream, and alcohol. Check in was quick & we were at our unit by six.
We had a few drinks and figured we better get something to eat while we could still walk. Our first night is usually spent at The Stone but our daughter has a sinus infection & said she wouldn't be able to enjoy the food so we walked down to The Greenhouse. An appetizer, two drinks, a soda & three sandwiches with two sides and tip was about $80.00. The Reuben & Senoir Philly which is chicken are great. We ended a long day about 10:30.
