Okay so here is a collage of sorts of some other things occurring in this trip. On day 1 we decided to go over to LaGondola at the Atlantis for Dinner and hit there about 6:30 on the Tuesday Evening. Though we were early, we were a bit surprised to be the first customers there. We knew about the original owner now being IZI’s across from Pineapple Petes, but as we always liked the atmosphere at LaGondola and had not heard any negative reports we checked it out.

The Service was top notch and the owner or manager whoever it was came over twice to ensure our satisfaction. We enjoyed our meals as always, I had a chicken dish and Patti opted for a linquini. Then came the adventure!

Why is it for many restaurants with ample seating that they sit the customers directly beside each other. With only two tables occupied on this early evening it defied my logic. The middle aged couple sat down and shortly thereafter, he announced loudly that he hoped he was not going to embarrass her and then immediately launched into a tirade which I will certainly not give any credibility to here other than to note he embarrassed everyone in the place.

Anyway, we thought the quality of food and service was no different from before, notwithstanding the unexpected eruption that poor woman had to endure. We left asap though I will admit to having urges otherwise. We will go back to LaGondola.

As I had noted on another thread, I resisted the temptation to dine at Uncle Harrys given some previous less than stellar reports though understanding that at start up there are often kinks to be worked out. That being said we did go over to Skipjacks another night and loved the ambience. I had the smallest available carribean lobster (3lbs) which I got to pick out. $21.95 per lb and 34.99 for Maines. It was okay I guess but not overly flavorable. Patti had Tuna, again okay and I will leave it there. We had no complaint with the service, it was good.

The next night it was Pineapple Pete’s and we really enjoyed it as usual. Great Service, very good food. In Canada we have Swiss Chalet and St. Hubert’s for rotisserie chicken and we often go there for it. They could learn a lesson from Pete’s where the chicken is so tender and juicey and a real grown up chicken. At home the size is much smaller and makes one wonder if they are robbing the nests! As many here will attest to, it ain’t fine dining but it can’t be missed!

Cool Find!! We came out of Orient Beach one day and just after leaving the beach sandy road, discovered Bread and Cake on the right in that small strip of shops beside the Tap 5 Pizza. We ordered Paninis and we they arrived they had to be 15 inches long, for 6 Euros and delicious, though we do like Andy and Cheryls like everyone else, this is a cool little spot too!

After over 12 years on the Island driving by, we finally bit the bullet and went over to Cheri’s at the Maho . I have to say that we did have a number of laughs, some hokey perhaps but still funny. I learned later from our landlord that the Chicken Parm is usually pretty decent. Unfortunately we didn’t order it and let’s just say that this was the least inspiring dinner meal we had on the Island. No qualms about the service though, it was good!

We had never been to Bajatzu before either and after hearing many good things about it and it being a fav of Lesley Bruce’s we tried it out, TWICE. Fabulous and if you have never been there, a helpful parking hint we didn’t know. You drive into the parking garage on your left heading towards the Golf Course and go up to the 3rd floor, the Restaurant Entrance is right there, clearly marked.
As Patti noted, the Spring Rolls are to die for, the steaks awesome and the Ahi Tuna delectable! Service is second to none! With so many different places to eat, it’s hard to justify two trips there but we couldn’t resist.

Too tired to continue now and I think enough left for a part 3, stay tuned. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" />
