We stayed at Simpson bay resort (Pelican) in building D (DIEFFENBACHIA) during the week of Christmas and New Year. Most of the services are working at the resort. However, the hot water did NOT work for the whole week. We had to take cold water showers during the evenings. We asked for repairs several time but it did NOT get fixed. I discovered that D building is using the solar energy to heat the water and it is not very reliable. Also, AC was not working at full however having fans in the room made up the difference. We enjoyed our usual places --- Pineapple Pete's, Lee's Place, Sunset BB, Anand's Indian Food outside of Pelican. Every night had great meals. Drinks at the Greenhouse Beach Bar were wonderful during happy hour (2 for 1). We are already missing the ST. Maarten and can't wait to come back. We may to look for a place at Maho this time as we like that area.
