You will love the beaches and definitely recommend a trip there. We were yearly travelers to St. Maarten but did not go this year because of Irma so we tried Grand Cayman last fall and loved it as you know and Barbados back in the Spring and loved it.
We were there in Late April/Early May and it was very quiet which was nice. We stayed in Paynes Bay on the West Coast and rented a car and traveled to different beaches. Zaccios in Holetown was great. We rented chairs and umbrellas and the food was great. There are also many other beach bars/restaurants in this area. Water is calm and beautiful. One day we travelled a little farther up the West Coast to Speightstown and went to a Beach Bar/Restaurant called Jumas, same thing rented chairs and umbrellas great food and beautiful water. What more can you ask for. We went to both of these beaches twice and one day we headed south to Bridgeton and went to a place call The Boatyard. This place charged an entrance fee which was applied to your bill however no coolers were allowed in so we had to buy everything there. Water was a little too rough for me as I think it is on the Southern Part of the island. This place is known as an excursion stop for cruisers who just want to go to the beach so I am sure it can be very crowded on a day when there are ships in port. Personally I liked the West Coast of the island the best. We didn't venture over to the other side of the island but will so next year when we go. We loved Barbados so much we are booked again for next spring! If you have any questions send me a PM and I would be happy to help.
