Thank you, Carol. That was helpful and it brought to light some things I did not know. I still won't be flying AA, however any time soon! From my experiences Delta and United have been exceptionally accommodating in the past when flying both domestic and internationally (and itinerary changes arose). One additional item that many people forego is the follow-up after an airline has 'jacked' you around. After a few days pass and you get their online survey be sure to fill it out and let them know where deficiencies existed. Then, follow this up with a call to customer service and express the same concerns you had in the survey. In the past Delta and United compensated us for our troubles which goes a long way towards renewing one' s faith in their customer service.
