It really sucks when that type of thing happens but people need to get a grip! It’s not like the airline planned for this to happen, and they dealt with it as best they could. No way they could stockpile one of every airplane part (or as was the case in this instance - every tire) for every plane that flies in and out of SXM. l..... I would almost bet this wasn't the first flight of the day, but even if it was, don't they check these planes? Low air in a tire would cause blow-out upon impact. Or does AA just land then take off again without re checking a plane? Once on a USAir flight the plane came in from elsewhere and our boarding was delayed because the plane check revealed just that---low tire pressure, so we waited while it was corrected.
