What a great contribution. I have been trying to make up my own check-out list and, after having seen this post for a long time, finally opened it. There was the answer to all my questions - literally!

The only two things I can think of to add are (1) clothes pins, sometimes there is a bag around, but they do come in handy for putting the laundry on the lifeline, and (2) request to see the last couple "squawk sheets" - not sure how many bases will actually do this but I think this is an important way to find out what has been happening to the boat.
