Day 4 4/28 VG to Anegada
Everyone on island time now. Beautiful sunny morning in North Sound. Winds forecasted E 10-15. Definitely heading for Anegada today. Casual breakfast on the ball. Head for trash dock at Bitter End. Still $2 bag. More ice $5 bag. More rum. Back to boat let's get going!

Motor out of NS and head up into wind toward Necker to rig sails. Ladies on board are on Branson patrol. No sightings yet. Setting up for a perfect, slightly off the wind run to the north, ENE winds @ 10-12. ETA Anegada Approach 11:30. Get a rigged Ballyhoo in the water. Bloody Mary's start flowing.

Bout 1/3 of way out, rig starts screaming. First "fish on" boat drill for the crew was a little messy, (1. start engine, 2. Bring boat into wind, 3. Bring dingy forward, 4. Ready gaft if needed 5. Land and take pictures of the monster! ) Drill completed and I dragged in a good size 'cuda. Catch and release and off we go. Capt needs a Carib! (If I'm fish'n (and catch'n) its got to be 5 o'clock somewhere)

Bout 2/3 of the way out, rig starts screaming. "Fish-on" boat drill getting better. This cuda a little smaller. Catch and release #2. Capt needs another beer!

Almost there and rig starts screaming. Before "fish on" drill can even get started, line goes slack. Only half a Ballyhoo left on the rig. Probably another 'cuda. Capt get 1/2 a beer.. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> That's enough fish'n for today.

Arrive at the outer mark around noon. Fish on drills slowed us down a bit. Follow channel in w/o issue. Depth shows 8 past middle red marker. Couple of empty balls in the middle of the field, but we decide to take one of the balls further out. Know it is shallow out there so we ease in nice and slow. Depth gauge shows 5 1/2 (6 1/2 draft) when we get secured. Dive in to check and we have about a foot under the keel. Not much tide to worry about so we are good. Lunch onboard, pool floats overboard, relax before we head off to CWB.

Head in to ARH to get taxi to CWB ($10 pp round trip). Make dinner reservations for later. Paved road keeps getting closer and closer to CWB. Planning to hang for a while. Been since 2009 so surprised by the beach erosion. Bell says this is an improvement and it was much worse in the winter. Conch fritters have not changed...yummm! Did a little snorkeling but visibility not so good. I see Texas flag is flying so ask Bell if Walker is in town. She sees him at the house and yells from the bar. He slides over w/drink in hand and I get to meet the Texas transplant for the first time. Great just listening to the two of them go on about everything Anegada.

Bout 5:30 taxi returns and we head back to boat to prep for dinner. More ice from ARH $7 bag. More PKs @ sunset. Head into ARH at around 7:00 for a great dinner. Some lobster, local fish and chicken. Everything was great. Back to boat to finish off PKs. We had been talking about doing two nights at Anegada, but this year we decide to do just one. Long sail to Baths tomorrow. More to come.......... Sailing Track Day 4
