My only thought on that picture is that Indian reservations are typically "dry" and could explain the long hike to a bar from a place that has evident human habitation. There are a lot of first nation places in the north and west of the American continent, which would also explain the snow.... but since my only experience of that area is skiing in Whistler I'm going to have to wait for someone else to guess the location.
