TomB said: Not sure which rental company you went with or maybe VRBO, but many of the owners have some amount of courtesy provisions awaiting for you.
Usually a small bottle of Rum, snacks, soft drinks, and water. We have even had yogurt, fruit, and sweet rolls for in the first morning. No big deal but enough to take the edge off a day of traveling and getting situated.
I always recommend hitting the villa first just to see what is there from previous guest to avoid double buying.
However I could see where provisioning may ease the first day transition in to island time quicker. You raise some excellent points and I have to agree that visiting the villa before shopping is the way to go. I think I'll check with our agent to see what/if our villa does. Thanks!
