"Tropical Storm Peter is approximately 350 miles to our east and slightly north as of 5pm. Tropical Storm Peter will be its closest to St. Maarten on the forecasted path on Monday afternoon at approximately 2 pm, about 140 miles to our north and east.

According to Island92 Chief Meteorologist, Rob Lightbown of Crown Weather, "Peter is being impacted by southwesterly wind shear of up to 20 knots and because of this, the low-level center of Peter is well removed from the convection. In addition, reconnaissance aircraft are finding that all of the tropical storm force winds are occurring on the northern side of Peter with no tropical storm force winds or really any squalls at all occurring on the southern side of the storm".

So, all in all, remain ALERT, but good news for Sint Maarten."
