Well I did it.......if you are ever near Milan, Tirano or quite frankly anywhere Trenitalia trains can get you to Tirano, Italy by noon.........take the Bernina Express from Tirano to St Moritz & back...........if you have time, you can stay up in the Alps at numerous places...........You can also take the train down the other side to Davos. IT WAS SPECTACULAR FOR THE 2+ HOUR ONE WAY TRIP FROM TIRANO To St Moritz......STUNNING..... Took the Viator tour from Milan......bus takes you past the real Lake Como which is quite huge. Makes a nice stop both ways for snacks/rest room breaks with lunch in Tirano prior to boarding the train.
