Good morning TTOLers. Some of the old timers here will have met Capt. Kevin Gray during their time in the BVI or elsewhere in the Caribbean, he was an old school sailor, incredible fisherman, and a boat-builder. He had much to do with the more modern aspects of the fisheries management programs here in the BVI and also taught modern fishing methods to many youths here in these islands. As a fisherman he was a firm believer in blending modern methods and management with old-school technique, with sometimes amazing results. Everyone in the fishing community knows him. As a boatbuilder he is the man who completed Foxy's sloop 'Endeavour' using volunteer labour from among the youth of Jost Van Dyke, a remarkable achievement. He also renovated the aluminium hulk that is now 'Pizza Pi' in Christmas Cove in St Thomas. The list of boats that he has improved is endless. He has passed on in Antigua on August 19 while repairing boats in his characteristically detail-oriented and 'correct' manner.
