Our last full day was not a beach day. We intended to go back to orient to Laplaya but our beach friend texted us and said that it was not a good day and he didn’t think it was worth our while to come over there.

So Plan B was a nice lunch and after going back-and-forth we decided to go to Roxxy Beach I’ve been wanted to go there this trip and I’m so glad we did.

We got there a little bit before the kitchen opens at noon so sat at the bar and Christine made us a couple of really strong rum cocktails called tiki tornado. They were served in fun Tiki glassware. The staff was really friendly and ambience is cool and comfortable. Since we were unsure if it would rain while we were there we opted to sit more inside even though it’s totally open air and we were very comfortable. They have a good variety of Asian dishes, sushi and as someone else posted that vegan dishes. There were burgers as well.

Ordered bao buns (4) to an order. Two were roasted pork belly and the other two were tuna sushi marinated in an Asian sauce. The Swwet and Sour Chilli chicken mango over fried rice was very good. I’m a heat wimp so was a little reluctant because of the word chili and yes they spelt it with two ll’s. I actually would’ve liked even a little bit more heat. for those who have no tolerance to heat it just had a little “kick”, not much.

Sushi roll: CALYPSO BLISS (SPICY)
Salmon, Tuna and Scallion inside. Outside Salmon, calypso Ajoli, Red Shrimp, Pickled Jalapenos, Yuzu Tobiko, Togarashi and Pink Peppercorn

The sushi roll was good but we liked Bamboo House and LaPlaya sushi better.

Dinner was a rum punch at Driftwood while we waited for a regular pizza to take away. Pizza was ok, not bad just not great where I would order it again. They used to have a bottle of infused olive oil that was very spicy and it was delicious. It really enhanced the pizza. When I asked for hot oil the girl pours oil and added pepper flakes to a small container. It’s just not the same as it really needs to infuse so they have to do it ahead of time.

Today is Saturday as I’m posting this and we received an email from Delta that our flight is delayed by a little less than two hours. When it’s time to go home I just wanna go home. Fingers crossed no other bumps in the road home.

It’s been a wonderful 2 weeks.

Wishing those visitors still on the island good weather and good times until next time take care, be well, be safe.
