Saturday November 5 – Today we’re moving from the French side to the Dutch side of the island. The skies are grey, so no beach time today. Not much to report as most of the time was spent packing and reading by the pool.

Lunch was at the lolos – Talk of the Town. Not five minutes after we were seated, the skies opened up and the rain poured down. Our food selections today were Grilled Shrimp Salad and Grilled Chicken Breast with Rice and Peas. Both meals were good, but the service was really slow. We waited for the rain to ease up and walked back to the public parking lot.

We checked out of our rental at 1:00. It certainly was a pleasure meeting Chantal! Now onto Maho, where we’re checking into a condo at The Royal Islander La Terrasse, also booked through AirBnB. We were able to check in early, which was a huge plus. The one bedroom unit is somewhat dated but in good shape and has gorgeous views of the ocean, the property’s garden, pool and the neighboring island of Saba.

It’s Saturday and the number of planes arriving is crazy. With today's nasty weather, I feel badly for the people arriving/departing today. With drinks in hand, we sat out on the balcony and enjoyed the views. During one of the breaks in the weather, we ventured down to the pool area, which is gorgeous!

At 4:45 the skies opened up once again. At 5:00 we had scheduled to meet our friends Gail and Guy at 3 Amigos for happy hour. Fortunately the restaurant is located diagonally across from the condo, but we still got soaked from the rain. All of that was forgotten once we got inside and enjoyed a few hours of laughter and catching up with our good friends. It was still pouring when we decided to leave, so instead of driving out for dinner, we ordered an order of Nachos from 3 Amigos and returned back to the condo.
