Election Day

So we awoke to more rain and more water in our unit. It’s quite colorful however with all the multicolored beach towels strewn across the white tile floors but it does make for safer walking conditions.

Breakfast done and the skies are trying to clear, or so it seems anyway. We may get some sun yet…… The waves are still rolling in and some have even come about up to the stairs to our porch. The seaweed is there but not as much as you might expect given the strange weather this past week and it’s lovely to turn off the airco and open the windows and doors and feel the ocean breezes accompanied by the sounds of the surf. Saw one cruise ship go by and several working boats out there this morning. Even with all the rain, this still beats being at home.

Decided to do some errands and of course, to my DH, that meant first let’s eat lunch. Stopped at the Dinghy Dock where J had a rib plate and I had another blue burger. Both were very good and then, on to our errands. Finished up our expedition at Zee Best for more goodies. They make a very nice chef salad so guess what’s for dinner again tonight.

Came home and forded White Sand Lake again after wending our way through the airplane watchers at Maho. Yup! Saw that cruise ship pass by this morning and I knew a large number of passengers would end up at Maho. With no sand - just rocks on the beach and large deep potholes in the road it’s a circus out there. And lo - once back to BSV I can’t help but notice the seaweed starting to increase on our end of the beach. With all those pounding waves I’m not at all surprised to see it.

Dinner in again. Had lots of left-overs in the fridge but not anymore. There are times when reheats can be even better the next day. We ate the last of our leftover ribs, potatoes, slaw and it was all delicious the second time around.

Cleaned up after dinner and an early bedtime. Who knew doing nothing could be so exhausting?!

Respectfully,

pat
