We walked it last Spring. There is now a new staircase that goes around the first (as you leave town) rocky point. When we were there, it ended at water level and you had to walk over the rocks to get to the beach by that restaurant. (Something Jack?) I hope there are plans to complete the steps / walkway, as in winter, when a swell is up, I can imagine it being hazardous to walk that short distance on the rocks. At the far end of Princess Margaret beach, there is a short, steep trail that takes you up the hill and along the fence of a private home. The trail was pretty leaf covered and slippery but doable with caution. Once you come to the road at the top of the hill, it's just an easy stroll down into Lower Bay. We actually ended up hiking up to the top of Ma Peggy from Lower Bay, though that is not the recommended route, and had a pleasant meal afterwards at a small cafe in Lower Bay, run by a widow whose husband is buried just outside the cafe. I think her name, and cafe start with D. Hope this helps, rather than muddles.
