It is amazing how friendships can develop during pool chat. What did you do yesterday, where did you go to dinner, to giving island advice to newbies who have no clue and no car.
That being said, Thursday night was the last night for our week 34 friends from north Carolina and we were invited to join them at pineapple Pete's.
Since they only come every other year, we certainly accepted, also because we always have Pete's on our list for a casual night out. Ronny Santana provided background music but we were seated towards the back of the room.
Even with all the fans, it still got a bit humid for me as well as some others. Service is friendly but always needs a bit more attention towards the tables. Not sure if the servers have stations or take tables all over cause at times it seems the server is MIA.
Minor issue as we do enjoy the food. The head pineapple must had actually taken a night off as we did not see him all night.
We were a party of 7 and the server had no problems splitting checks as I know this is a real PIA.
My wife and I shared appetizers of a one love sushi roll and the always good crab stuffed shrimp. We were surprised last year that the sushi is pretty good.
For the price, Pete offers a pretty good lobster Thermador in two sizes. We shared a monster as they call in with a 8 ounce filet. The filet was served with a peppercorn sauce on the side. Cooked perfect MR ,tender and tasty. The lobster was a monster overfilling the plate, and for the cost, Very good .
This isn't Bisto Caribes, but you aren't paying that premium price . Cost for surf and turf was $123 with plenty of leftovers.
No dessert for us while 5 others each ordered the signature rum creme burlee. Unfortunately the burlee had not time to set and were still a bit wigglely. The server graciously took them off the check.
Spending time with friends especially over a meal is priceless.
I'm sure we'll return next year again for a monster
