We are back from another wonderful week at Villa Dawn on St. Croix, USVI! We had nice weather with a few tropical waves passing through during the night so our days were just great.
We spent a lot of time in the pool, snorkeled at Cane Bay where we were face to face with a Moray (sp) Eel as well as many colorful fish.
We toured the Cruzan Rum Factory, shopped at the many great shops in downtown Christiansted, had lunch in Fredricksted at Turtles Deli and mostly just chilled out and relaxed.
Our trip was extended by two extra nights at the Caravelle Hotel due to Hurricane Dennis causing many flight delays/cancellations. The American Airline employees were so kind and gracious to us at the St. Croix airport; they gave us taxi, hotel and meal vouchers for both nights. We finally departed STX early Monday morning and were held up for over 7 hours in Miami due to weather problems in ATL. We finally got home about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning!
Renting a villa may not be for everyone, but it is a great alternative to a resort and gives you a whole house vs. one room, your own private pool and driving around is so much fun! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Cool.gif" alt="" />
