Great stuff!
It is just amazing how fast a thunderstorm will run down Drake Channel. If it's really dark and black it's best to motor through it. Once the windward islands have disappeared you have to get ready immediately, even if you're way west. We usually fire up the engine, furl the sails, close all hatches that might be open topsides, and find the soap.
Great opportunity to get a fresh water bath.
