Daphne from The Chew had this recipe for Iced coffee on their show a few weeks ago. I didn't write down the
exact amounts, but here is my take on it.

Put coffee grounds in a glass bottle of water, stir.
Put in refrigerator.

Make simple syrup, equal parts sugar and water, cooked on stove until the sugar is melted into the water, and store that in refrigerator.

I used a 20 oz pitcher of water and added in about 3/4 cup of coffee grounds.

When you want to make your iced coffee, you strain some cold coffee through a cheesecloth to omit the grounds from your iced coffee. You don't cook the coffee grounds at all, they are sitting in the cold water.

It is three-fourths cold coffee, a little of the simple syrup, and top it off with whatever you want for the flavoring.

Daphne said during the show if you were making iced coffee without simple sugar and just adding table sugar, you would be adding a lot more sugar. The simple sugar syrup is used very sparingly comparatively.

Tried it today and it was a tasty treat.

I think a little bit of heavy cream works well for the final step, I am also a fan of that with pumpkin flavoring (liquid) and some Patron coffee flavored tequila in iced coffees.
