Our 2016 plan is not rush or worry about the ferry connections from STT to the BVI. We are planning a day in STT before the ferry over, and day in STT before we leave to allow us time for the ferry over.
I distrust the airlines' abilities to give a flying fig about our connection needs. Since you live here in the Atl area you don't need connecting flights. You can take the first Delta from Hartsfield and, if no delays/weather, land in STT around 1:15. We did in July and Kevin got us to the ferry dock for the 2:30 ferry on Native Son to West End then RT. We did stay on STT the last night just so we weren't at the mercy of the ferry's to make those kind of connections on the day we would be flying out.
