Best trip yet! Even had excitement of being told by Gendarmes to evacuate Grand Case 3/18 due to a pending squall. It wasn't raining, in fact it was a calm, balmy evening. Next day in Marigot parked at cemetarie wall. When we returned found road flooded had to enter car via passenger's side. 9 ft waves crashed in over cars parked water side flooding jeeps with tops down. A nearby hotel had water in the lobby.

1st week was at GCBC...wonderful! Since I like shade found a great deal at end of beach. When we wanted sun & surf we crossed the restaurant to Petite Plague. Rented a car but didn't use it at all while there. Walked to restaurants.

SPICY: Companion's Steak au poivre was best he'd ever had he said. My Maigret de Canard was average.

SPIGA: Pumpkin Ravioli, Pancetta crusted port tenderloin, rack of lamb, 2 glasses of wine, lemon ricotta cake, agood deal for $75

LOLO's Talk of Town blah, Sky's Limit was great Marlin steak, garlic shrimp, cod fritters, fixin's $21

Calmos Cafe too expensive for a beach bar 2 tasteless salads and 2 gins $57

Au Grain de Sel: twice: 2 Lasagna 2 wines 29 Euros then on another visit pizza 2 wines 13 Euros. Food was excellent!

Saveures de France Old St Philipsbg for croissants & coffee

Pasangrahan $90 forgettable meal

And the usuals: Mark's, Dingy Dock, Greenhouse, Sunset Cafe

Saw no accidents, nothing stolen, traffic bearable except for day police told boated to get to safe harbor due to squall. Bridge opened continuously until all inside causing traffic to jam the island. Good thing we know short cuts & side roads.

Beaches great until squall caused errosion and winds. Didn't find mosquitoes ..or should I say they didn't find me.

Sand gravity took over...or was it all that Etna Rhum Raisin ice cream I ate?
