I am thoroughly enjoying this report in particular as I relive my own trip to the same places several years ago. Funny - why does the food in "old town" taste so special? The best appetizer ever was had at a small restaurant tucked into one of those tiny streets. It was only fresh greens and robiola cheese drizzled with honey but it was so delicious. I have the same picture of the "Salamis" hanging in the market in Lugano. I still long for the hot chocolate they served at Hotel Dante Lugano - it was so thick and rich the spoon almost stood up by itself. I can't wait to see more pictures and hear about the rest of your trip. Thank you for such wonderful trip reports.
