Okay so now we are off to Harmony Nights in Grand Case (Tuesdays Jan 13th I think until Feb 24th) with Dan and Betty, so I take them up the long way around thru Sucker Garden, Orlean etc. about 4:30 to show them Gallion, Orient Cul De Sac etc., We arrive shortly before 5 so I first went up the exit to Grand Case over to the Airport to see if there are shuttles running and there doesn’t appear to be any. Confirmed later as they closed the road off a block or two before the Lolo Barbecues.
I pulled out of the Airport parking lot and drove back to the main road, turning right and headed up to the other entrance into Grand Case off the main road. Drove in there and followed the P signs turning left to go over by the Church, still quite a few parking spots available and it’s free there. We walked up into the main road past the Police Station, hey Repe. De Pirate is still there and open. We tried once before there, see a previous trip report on my page. Anyway the wind is pretty strong and playing havoc with Vendor Displays along the street blowing everything over.
Within 90 minutes we are surprised at the number of Vendors along the street, most we have ever seen for Harmony Nights having gone there numerous years and the crowd of people too, again most we have ever seen. We tramped all the way down taking a look then buying what interested us on the way back. There is a band midway down the street towards the main road and another right in front of the Lolos, Talk of the Town etc. We were a bit disappointed as on this particular night there were no drummers or marching going on though we were out of there around 9 or so, so it may have happened later.
Dan and Betty are amazed at the prices of the Lolos, so we decide to forego the fancier pricy French Restaurants this time and opt for the lolo beside Talk of the Town. The girls order ribs and chicken, I forget what Dan ordered but it was half a rack for 6 bucks so I opted for a full one at 12. Some beers and a jug of red wine with a bill of 66 bucks at the end, pretty good. We drive off for Cole Bay to do a little gambling at the Princess and I get stuck behind a Garbage Truck in Marigot having to turn around and figure out how to get back to the main road again, we manage after two times around the block.
We show Dan and Betty where Peg Legs is at Port Depleasance, I make my nightly deposit playing Poker then we head back to DIVI.
