Thought I would re-post this as the post did expire a long time ago.
--------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.03 Title: Sullivan's Chili Categories: One pot, Main dish, Favorite Yield: 10 Servings Oil 2 lb Lean ground beef 2 cn Kidney beans 1 cn Crushed tomatoes (28oz) 2 lg Onions, chopped 3 Garlic cloves, chopped 1 Green pepper, chopped 3 tb Chili powder 2 tb Sugar 1 tb Crushed red pepper 3 tb Red wine vinegar 1 ts Ground cumim Salt and pepper to taste Shredded cheese -optional Sour cream - optional In non-stick skillet heat oil and saute onions until wilted, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and saute for 2 minutes more. Transfer onions and garlic to large Dutch oven or stock pot. Add ground beef to skillet (in batches) and brown, transferring to Dutch oven when finised. Add tomatoes, peppers, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and spices to Dutch oven. Heat to boiling, lower heat and simmer for about an hour. To serve ladle into bowls and top with shredded cheese and zap in microwave to melt cheese or run under broiler. Add a dollop of sour cream if desired.
