We are 6'5" and get through the channel ok, so far; we hug the south side. We anchor out as even the mooring balls that we can use are very tight and any swell will have you doing the pogo. Its 12' outside the channel to the east towards setting point. Yep, good anchor set.
We were talking to Desne at Wonky Dog about the silting in the anchorage. She said that there is definitely a lot of sand coming into the harbor and it is getting visibly shallower. We certainly see that. I won't take our boat into mooring field until that changes. Nice view to the sunset upwind from a lot of holding tanks where we anchor.
