What can be expected to be closed during a July visit because of the lower tourism volume? Not because of construction updates this year as this is a plan for July 2017 honeymoon vacation. We are staying on the French side but will be touring all of the island along with day trips to Anguilla and St. Barts.

Pretty much everything should be open. Not necessarily open every day, as some restaurants, for instance, might be closed one or two nights out of the week and possibly one or two might be closed for a week or so for vacation, but in general, everything should be open. Enjoy!

From our experience in June, do not trust a website for a restaurant regarding either entertainment nights or a regular menu. Call and reserve and ask about it. We found no music on a website-night and the main menu item we went for was not on the menu--''due to low season.''

We are here now and come every year in July. Virtually everything is open and there are numerous restaurants that have live music. But as wetravel said, check the schedules when on island to see what is happening when and where.

Went to Cupecoy today and only thing open is Rendevous. Looks like that new Chinese restaurant that took over the NY trattoria is gone. VERY quiet here Never saw it like this before even for July

Curious if Marios Bistrot is open. Anyone?

Yes--we ate there twice in July and it was wonderful. Only open for dinner.

CaribLee,

We were there in December right after it opened in the Porto Cupecoy location and the food was as wonderful as it always was. When we first arrived there were only a few tables already seated and it was lovely but by the time we were halfway through our meal it was filled to capacity with every table taken and it appeared there was a bit of a crowd in the bar area, too.

At this point, the noise level was really bad, to the point it actually took some of the pleasure from our meal. When the waiter was taking our dessert order he actually commented about the noise level and was somewhat apologetic and mentioned there was talk they might have to do something to help with noise levels in the future.

Was it a full house when you were there and if so, how did you find the noise level?

We love the location and enjoyed it under the previous restaurants - LeMoulin Fou Steakhouse and Ils Quatre Vents - and how could you NOT love the food offerings of Marios as well as the excellent service but the noise levels we experienced would put me off returning.

I'm so hoping they found a means to correct the problem. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Respectfully,

pat

We traveled to St Maarten and Anguilla last July. Didn't notice that anything was closed. Have a great trip!
