I just took a look at the AA flight I typically take to St. Maarten (#1596) from JFK. This year our departure date, April15 th, which happens to be the Saturday before Easter, is showing only one coach fare ONE WAY at $869.00 but the good news, it's fully flexible!!
Well that makes it a real deal, doesn't it? (She says with tongue planted firmly in cheek.....) So very glad I booked JB when they first posted the fares for our date. May not be wild about the airline but at least we got the flight we wanted before the fares started to rise, and they've already gone up $20.00 since we booked.
Point of all this being, if you're planning on Easter in SXM and haven't checked fares yet, you might want to do so. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

AA went from $750 to $1250 at that time. JB $980
Going to book another airline! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" />

Rosemary,
No. I meant my JB FLIGHT, #787 (I think that's the flight number), went from $219.00 when I purchased my one way the day the new dates first were posted, up to $239.00 today. This is a direct N/S from JFK to SXM that departs at 7:45 in the morning on 4/15 and does NOT include the fees for the roomier 'up front' seats which I believe was $70.00 more each for those who wanted them.

And so it begins - the ever upward climb of airfares. The n/s flight we booked for 4/15 from JFK to SXM (one way) has already climbed from $219.00 to $339.00. I'm sure there will be sales down the road but those who are planning to travel around Easter should keep an eye on the fares if you haven't already purchased tix.

I forgot you travel from NY. Our fare from Boston went up $200. Sorry.

Hmmmmm, our April JB flight to SXM just took another hike. It's up to $377.00 one way as of this morning. Yet the later flight, still a n/s on the same day, remains at $219.00 one way. For a savings of $158.00 pp ONE WAY, I'd happily arrive five or six hours later but I'm glad I booked what I wanted when I did. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

We were very happy for years with the N/S JB, BOS SXM at 7am. Wonder why they took it off? It was always packed.

Same with the United flight, EWR to SXM every day at 8am. Every flight I was on was always full. They did away with that one too. Go figure!
