Heard a quarterly assessment? Owners have e-mails stating a assessment is needed.

Who did you "hear" this from?

There was a previous discussion here from a week ago.

Did you ask them if they had information? It may or may not be factual but "hearing" something often leads to confusion.

They are the same people who posted on the previous thread. I quickly checked a Sapphire facebook page and saw nothing there other than some owners grumbling.

They are offering a quarterly payment option for the regular maintenance fees. If you choose to pay in full they are offering a FREE three year RCI Platinum membership. ( Nice way for Verdier to maximize his exit funds. )
I have not seen anything about any new fees.

We received the Sapphire Beach Club Summer 2016 Newsletter stating the two options for the assessment. One choice was that if you paid the assessment in full before the due date one would received a free RCI Platinum Membership for three years. The other option was four installments and it depended on the type of unit owned.

So, what are the fees for a Sapphire timeshare? As an example, fees for a one bedroom?

Not really sure on that, probably not, but anyone buying Sapphire right now is taking a big risk. If you look back on posts regarding Sapphire for the past several years, they are NOT complementary, at all..

Not in our opinion considering what Sapphire looks like. We pay that for a 1BR deluxe (one side of a free standing building that has 1Br on each side and 2 or 3 BR above) at Divi. with 2 bath, one with jacuzzi, LR DR lanai

Rural: I'm sorry to say that we did in fact receive a letter from the newly elected President of the Sapphire Beach ClubTenants Assoc. In his newsletter he stated the assessment fees and what the amount was, when due and how to pay.!

This thread is very confusing. Is this the new "assessment" or your maintenance fee? Are the assessments different per size and type of unit? Or is this the maintenance for a 1 bedroom?

From what I have seen on other web pages, the court ruling this past week has the Sitbons winning and taking over ownership. I don't see it documented anywhere else (Herald?) but if this is true, I'd think that letter and fees are no longer valid. Don't own there so I am just passing on what I "heard".

The proposal that was approved as follows: (4 payments each)
Studio - $195
1 Bdroom - 216
2 Bdroom - 228
Villa/Penthouse - $258
Some of the work supposedly has already been done. Units in Bldg 3 and some Villas have new appliances; walls painted; furniture repainted; outside deck and jacuzzi treated and new televisions.

Thank you for sharing your information and you mentioned previously regarding such. It does no good when one indicates they "heard" something and they offer no more. I prefer to deal in facts versus "hearsay" and that is the point I was trying to make.

50 bucks......and at royal islander the maintenance fees gets used for maintenance....not to align the owners pockets and put no money into the resort

Please, lets try to keep this discussion about Sapphire and the special fees and not a comparison about timeshare maintenance fees elsewhere.

Thank you.

Exactly what I was going to say. Some are equating AMF will "special assessment". If it is the latter is would be in addition to the AMF so comparing to present fees at other resorts is pointless....

Clarification needed but I will assume it is as stated..an additional assessment on top of the AMF

That is my understanding and also why it needs to pertain to the specific topic, especially in this case.

Based upon what a previous posted stated, I am taking what is listed below as the special assessment and in addition to any AMF.

I will add one comment and it is assessment related. SBR had a renovation assessment over the last few years (one per unit) but it was for a defined total renovation of every unit. It was NOT for general maintenance...

They are referring to it as a "supplementary budget" payment....received the bill on 8/11/2016 and they want payment by 8/17/2016...... this goes to the round file with the rest of Verdier's bills. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

It was stated here that if paid immediately you get something in return (forgot what it was) or you can pay quarterly. BUT what if you don't pay? Can deny you access to your TS until you do pay? And would there be interest?

They have it assessment broken down to four payments starting in August or the option to make one payment and received RCI membership.

Rci membership is only good if you can use it to get something which is another story.

So does anyone have any idea what is going on with this assessment? I have read on the Jeff Burger site that the courts ruled in favor of Bruno Sitbon. I don't know what to do whith it at this point. Any advise or insight would be appreciated

Unless things have changed over the w/e I read on his site (Friday) that the court has still not made a ruling in this case.

Yes these fees are over and above the annual maintenance fees. These fees are considered assessment fees for the updating work that is to be done or getting done soon. The letter I received stated that the installments were due August, Sept, Oct. and Nov.

According to their letter the contracts that remain delinquent will be cancelled within a short time for purpose of resale. A sales team has been organized in order to proceed to the sale of those timeshares.

Somebody or a bunch of somebodies need to contact a lawyer and try to get an injunction from the court not permitting Verdier to take away your condo until the decision has been made as to who owns it!!! I don't have a horse in this particular race, but have had one in another and at this point an injunction seems to be the way to go since there is not much time. If the court sides with Sitbon, and you have paid Verdier, you will never see that money again.

Now I am confused. I thought the court already made its ruling and validated the purchase by the new owner..
