http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&fdays=2 This bears watching... hopefully it tracks closer to the 5 Day Outlook here http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&fdays=5 . Having been on-island for Gonzalo on Monday, October 13th, 2014, it pays to have an eye out for developing storms.

Definitely looks worth watching, but Weather Underground models look to be a 'fish storm'..

It's now TD 6 and it doesn't look as far north as it was yesterday. Don't think it will threaten SXM, but could threaten US East Coast, seems like to me.

Appears to be headed NorthWest and away from SXM. Bermuda and the States may have a problem unless the west winds steer it away.

It's now Tropical Storm Fiona, but still looks to be no danger to SXM.

Tropical Storm Fiona looks to be a 'fish storm', but there is another strong wave behind! Welcome to the real hurricane season!

No, I don't think so. Looks to be very much a 'fish storm' right now.

Invest 99L, however, looks to potentially be a problem for SXM!! https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/atlantic/2016/Invest-99L?map=ensmodel

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! We leave for the island in two days! I am from Oklahoma, originally (living in Florida for only 1 year) so I am unfamiliar with Hurricanes. How long do they usually take to form &/or travel? I think I'll look and see if this site has an app for my phone.

I found the 5 day forecast. We may need to stock up on alcohol and baguettes! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

If there's something big going on, you can always go to the National Hurricane Center site.

We are on Pelican Key right on the beach. Thought we were just going to get rain but a few minutes ago the wind went from nothing to blasting. Lights are starting to flicker.

Take care, stay safe! I saw in the DH today there is a flash flood warning out for today.

Flash food warning

In future, 99L looks to be possibly a big problem for Florida.. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Shocked.gif" alt="" />
