Yes, for March 2017. There is a large group to accommodate and everything has to be perfect for a big event. I tried calling but something is wrong, I seems to can't connect correctly.. It's ok, I will ask somebody with the Facebook account to give them a shout.

Being as we are on the Dreams topic...can anyone give me specific directions to the place? I have been to SXM a few times and have never been yet,,,so on my bucket list for this January. Take me driving from the Sapphire resort,,,as I think I head out that way. We are staying at Royal Palm this time, but I have a "fairly" good idea of the island....really appreciate your help...have heard so many good things about Dreams, that we def want to try it. Thank you!!

Dreams is very close to Sapphire. Just make a LEFT out of the resort, headed toward Port du Cupecoy and the French side. Go basically straight through that little roundabout directly in front of Port du Cupecoy and then you will be on the French side. From that point, it is maybe only about 5 minutes to Dreams. Keep going on that road. Eventually you will see a big sign on the left hand side of the road, that says Dreams (and Le Sand, I think). If you actually arrive in Marigot, you have gone too far, so turn around and go back. The sign is pretty big, so fairly hard to miss, but like I said, if you get to the speed bumps in Marigot, you have gone too far..

Meg,
Carol is spot on......just turn left out of Sapphire and head to Sandy Ground/Marigot and it's about halfway there on the left hand side of the road. There's a big sign and it's pretty hard to miss - you'll have no problem finding it.

Thanks Carol and Pat...I have a real good idea where it is now. I want to have a nice dinner there. What is the beach like there? or is it mostly for dinner and entertainment?

Unfortunately Dreams is not on the best beach for swimming , but it is a delightful place to enjoy good food and drinks and spend a relaxing day. Some days there is musical entertainment and fashion shows. There is a nice little boutique there for shopping for beach items as well.Lots of parking and friendly service.

This is purely MY opinion, but I don't personally feel Dreams Beach on Baie Nettle is much of a swimming beach with all the great ones the island has to offer on both sides. It's not terrible, but certainly not one of the best either. But the Dreams staff rakes it every morning and certainly keeps it very clean and inviting.
Dreams Beach itself is relatively small by comparison to Orient, Mullet or Simpson Bay Beach although it's very long; the beach furnishings are outstanding but the slant of the beach doesn't allow for great sunning exposure; but OMGoodness, the food there is absolutely incredible and the service has been very good each time we've gone.
In my own personal dreams I would like to take the kitchen of Dreams along with some of their furnishings and combine these with the actual beach at the Anse Marcel Beach Club along with the uniqueness of the physical restaurant itself and I would be in my personal idea of heaven on the island. The restaurant at Anse Marcel is a nicer setting and the food is very, very good but I've always found the food at Dreams to be mostly exceptional.
Truth is - I love them both for very different reasons. But make sure you check with Dreams because I don't believe they're open every night for dinner although this may just apply to the time of year we're usually there.
Respectfully,
pat

As others have said, the beach there isn't the best. We don't go there for the beach, but for the ambiance and the delightful food. And as others have said, they are usually not open every night for dinner. Check with them to see which nights they are open for dinner.
That said, their menu is very extensive and I think that perhaps the menu at lunch offers everything they offer at dinner. So what we do is to go there for a magnificent lunch on the beach, and several hours in their comfy chairs, then have a light dinner at 'home'. Either way, you should enjoy yourself!

GaKaye said: I'm going to disagree with my friends Pat and Elizabeth, only because I don't go to the beach for either the sun or the water. I know I'm probably in the minority there. I love that I can sit in the shade under an umbrella, but get up and take a nice long walk along the shore if I choose. There's lots of good sea glass hunting there too. The comfort of the lounges and the proximity of the bar are great there too. And of course, I can't say enough about Bruno and his staff, along with the delicious food.
Now that I read your post I realized perhaps it's why we enjoy Dreams so much. We too are not swimmers nor sun worshipers. We go to SXM for the food and ambience of places.

Me too. I like to be ON the beach, but I am actually not out in the sun much. I generally hide under the umbrella and really don't get in the water much. Love to LOOK at the water, but all that sand all over and sea salt doesn't appeal that much. I love a nice dip in the pool though, then go hide under the umbrella!

When we stay at Divi we want one of the units facing Great Bay so we can eat, drink on the lanai and watch activity on the water and the cruise ships arrive. We sometimes go to the pool if we can get shade. I'd hate to have one of Divi's units on the beach because they have sun all day. Dreams for the food and shade in a "clam-shell" or Zafire to enjoy the beach under the shade of an umbrella. We've considered BSV in the past but always thought we'd in in full sunshine.

RonDon--BSV has a porch for each unit which is fully shaded, basically all the time, with two chaise lounge chairs, and a small dining table with two chairs. Or, on the sand itself, we always rent an umbrella from Craig at Packlight, for about $10 a week for a huge big sturdy umbrella.
Also, you can sit in the main living room, as I usually do, in a huge big comfy chair, smack dab in front of the slider, and have a full, unobstructed view of the water. Also, there is a lovely shady gazebo by the pool with two large dining tables with several chairs around them. We generally go off season, but I can usually sit there in the shade by the pool and read, with a view of the ocean AND the airport, and have the place all to myself. Next time you're on island, you should go check out the units.

I agree absolutely with Carol. The place isn't glass and chrome and glitz but totally comfy. My DH is NOT that much off a sun worshipper but he thoroughly enjoyed napping on the porch and he also enjoyed the gazebo area on the pool deck. You really should check it out, Rosemary. The thing I most enjoyed was hearing the sounds of the waves crashing at night - you could hear them in the bedroom even with the sliders shut and locked.

You can look at some of my trip reports, or even their website, there are pictures of the covered deck.

If waking up in the morning to a lovely bright sun with the , Turquoise ocean at your feet and peace and quiet. BSV is the way to go!! We love hanging out with our BSV friends of many years by the pool at the end of the day. Yes, it has a shaded deck. I'm "there" right now!! LOL!! Yes it is our home away from home every October/Nov! http://beachsidevillas.com/

If you want glitz and glamour and marble and granite and dishwashers and rainfall showers, Beachside Villas is not for you. If you want your own 'private' beach, two steps from your private shaded porch, with a full unobstructed view of the beach, then BSV is for you.
