Daily Herald editorial Has anyone here ever gone to this website, when it was working?? I never heard of it before. St. Maarten really is so far behind other islands with it's spending for advertisement.

Between this and the situation with Heineken Regatta, it really makes one wonder what else might be going on and/or neglected. Pretty sad.

It seems they send representatives to other islands and the states to promote tourism. I wonder where that money comes from?

The story didn't really say if the Dutch government paid up or not, but the official St. Maarten tourism website is back up. Can't say that I've ever seen it before. Offhand, quite a bit of obsolete information on there, including that US Air flies to SXM. How many years has US Air been gone?? Two? Three??

I think the USAir/AA merger final integration was late 2015.

The events calendar the site links to is also 2015. Departure tax is not current either. Not very up to date at all.

Yes, very obsolete. The upcoming events are from Sept 2015

Perhaps that is how long the St. Maarten government has not paid for the site!!
