I am trying to book a Cat for next Christmas for my family of 6. The prices are astronomical! I've looked at TMM, BVI Yacht Charters, MM Vacations, etc..but the costs are so much more than I remember. Looking in the 40 ft range. Can anyone recommend any smaller, lesser known charter companies or individuals that charter? I realize its Christmas week in paradise and understand supply and demand but hoping someone knows of someone. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try Mark from sail Orion. He is a sponsor here. His cat is a lagoon 40 with TMM.

Most companies will not discount over Xmas. In fact many charge extra over the usual high season rates. You might give Conch Charters a try.

The one who you've mentioned, and Conch are toward the lower end on the pricing scale.

I usually see last minute emails in December but even then they aren't inexpensive.

Good luck!

Yes, Brent at Captain's Compass has a great fleet. All reasonably priced and keep in top condition, my boat included (Island Fun, 42 Leopard)

Check out CYOA in St. Thomas. It's only a 90-minute sail to Jost...
