We were there in December and it seemed to have declined a little BUT they were doing some new construction/renovation so I'm hoping that it is back up to par by now (for example, the laundry room was in a shambles, only two washers worked and only one dryer, there were several days that there was no hot water, the beach was littered with nails and debris and the restaurant - even though it is not OWNED by Flamingo - was horrible). Our room was fine with the exception of the shower drain constantly gurgling throughout the night.

They are issuing wrist bands for people staying there for identifying guest that belong on the property. Great to see as it will cut down on the non guests that come to the pool or beach loungers and using the Flamingo amenities. I have to admit it was a constant suggestion that I put forth to the management last year and previous years in meetings and comment cards. Hope they really enforce it and not let it slide by.

Strange. My daughter and son in law were there in late December over Xmas time and didn't experience any of what you stated. They thought the food was just fine at the restaurant that used to be Toppers By The Sea. They didn't need to use the laundry room as they had a lockout unit with washer/drier in unit so couldn't comment on that but the beach was always clean for them. Not doubting your experience but they had no issues with nails and they spent a lot of time on the Flamingo beaches.

Seems contrary to what you posted back in Feb. and admitted to using the pools at LaVista as a guest of friends staying there when you were at Flamingo.

Carol. The Flamingo allows friends of guests to use the pool as does the Royal Palm as long as they are with the people staying there. We have been to many other resort destinations and it's been the same there too. Maybe some of the places you have stayed at aren't as guest friendly but I know that the Diamond resorts allows this.

Not really. As I stated they allow guests of people saying there. You just have to go to the front desk or pool attendant and vouch for your guest now and they will be issued a wrist band. Was that way in December when my daughter was staying there.
As far as using the LaVista pool as a guest of friends staying there. Yes, but only if invited by them and they were there too.

Not sure why you like to try and call me out on posts I make. I just try to help others out on on their questions with what I know.

Seems like folks enjoy calling people out smile

Glad to read about the wristbands - when we were there (early December), there were many folks coming over from SBR and staking claim to the palapas and chairs early in the mornings. The issue with nails, etc. on the beach was probably because they were in the process of repairing/painting the palapas but they really should have picked up the sharp objects. The laundry room was definitely a mess - they had two new dryers sitting there with the tags still on them but they weren't hooked up the entire two weeks we were there. Like I said, I hope they're back up to their usual level of service by now. Will definitely go back - can't beat the location!

It will be like everything else at most hotels, they will not enforce it. How about the holding pool loungers for 1 hour, never happens. They don't have the staff to check on everybody.

You're probably right, unfortunately. I've seen people put their towels on beach chairs and leave for hours at a time and the staff does not remove them - - even though they are the resort's towels. Silly! I'm just glad to have a patio right on the beach!

Even with signs posted, Royal Palm did not enforce the being away from you chair for 1 hour rule and I doubt Flamingo does either. They don't want to pi$$ of an "owner" and them paying their high maintenance fee.

This isn't about calling anyone out, just going back to what was previously stated/posted and trying to give an objective view.
