My family & I would like to take a trip to Anguilla and I have in the past but is the Ferry in Marigot still the best way to get there?

If coming from the Simpson Bay airport, GB Express is likely the best option. I think you need advance reservations, a little more expensive than the ferry, but that's what I would do.

I also prefer the GBExpress but unless things have changed dramatically, it is considerably more expensive than the Marigot ferry, particularly if going as a family, and it's also much nicer if you're actually in the Mullet/Maho/Simpson Bay areas as you catch it almost across from the airport.

Depending on your plans for the day and while I don't have any specifics, I know there is at least one organized day trip that might be fun for a family and more reasonable, too, if you're actually considering the GBE. I don't know the name of the company but as I recall you take a catamaran to Anguilla and then a bus or cab to a specific beach and I believe lunch is included in the overall price along with time at a nice beach for water activities. We've never done this one but I have heard people speak of it and they seem to really enjoy the day. Hopefully, someone else here will know the name of the boat or company that offers this AXA dat.

And if you're staying at a place that has a concierge or activities desk, I'm sure they will offer it. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I was thinking they were doing the whole vacation in Anguilla, but for a day trip, I like Pat's idea. I have heard of the type of catamaran that goes to Anguilla, but they only go certain days, if I remember correctly. Not sure of name of boat, either.

We've taken the Bluebeard "Heineken" catamaran to Anguilla twice. Check their website for days they go and price. Great time - and includes drinks and snacks on the boat, short tour of the island and lunch at Madeariman's at Shoal Bay

We've done that trip with the Blue Beard Catamaran, and they take you Shoal Bay one of the top beaches in the world, not sure if they still do that trip or not as it's been several years.

Thank you I think we might do the Ferry & then cab to Rendevous Beach. Spelling might be wrong. We have been to Shoal many times thought we would try something else even though it has been a number of years.
